Build it and they will come ~ Bull Durham
The movement has begun and just like a freight train when it leaves the station someone pulls a small block from in front of the wheels and the big heavy train starts moving. The train moves very slowly at first but with each revolution of the wheels the speed seems to double until soon the train is moving at full speed. It takes almost as long and more energy to stop a train at full speed than it takes to get it moving.
The point to this illustration is show that once a movement has begun you don't want to stop it but more importantly if you were going to catch the train it's much easier to do it in the beginning than it is when it's at full speed.
I started by making a weekly practice at being kind, spreading kindness, and doing good deeds just on Facebook. Then with blogging, then with Twitter, and Google+, then with a podcast. At first only on the weekends, then talking about kindness, during the week then, doing good deeds and spreading kindness during the week, until now I'm talking about it and doing something about kindness daily it has become a part of my life and a part of me. At first I could see the happiness and joy that I was bringing to to the people around me. I could see the differences that I was making in those lives and that was fun, exciting and addictive. The more I spread kindness the more I want to spread it and just like last weeks post the more I look for kindness the more I find.
I have taken notice of kindness just recently on a much larger scale but more amazingly then finding it on my own it's been shared with me by different and sometimes unexpected people. I don't think that I directly inspired the kindnesses that they shared but I do think that just by having the thoughts, feeling and intentions out into the universe that other AMAZING people picked up on the energy and vibration. Those people do and think of AWESOME things and ways to inspire and spread kindness. More importantly I'm surprised by some of the people who shared these links with me it lets me know that kindness is on their radar!
I can now see, hear and feel kindness a little more every day where ever I go this makes me happy and lets me know that it's working! Here are some of the links to kindness that were shared with me this week I know you will enjoy them!

The New Podcast
I’m so excited about our new edition to the Kindness Initiative Network (KIN) The KIN Connection Podcast
The podcast was released last Sunday February 10th,2013 it is currently only available at the link that I shared above. I hope to have it and the next ones to follow posted to a site that I’m working on at Podbean. Then it will be available on itunes and part of a podcast directory so that it can be easily found and downloaded by anyone on an device.
What I’m most excited about is that it’s not just me and my guest(s) tutting our own horns…..O.K. there might be a little of that. The first episode was a little rough because we are still in the learning phase but I still think it came out pretty good. The first one just describes what we plan to do with the podcast and the most exciting part is that we are trying to make it interactive. We have encouraged the listener to provide the content for the podcast through their posts and comments to our social media sites.http://www.facebook.com/KindnessInitiativeNetwork, https://twitter.com/KINconnection as well as here on the blog. We will choose a few great post and comments each week we will read them and discuss them in depth as well as relate them to the topic for the week. We will also be adding something back that was a favorite from the beginning and that is the KIN challenge where we will challenge the audience each week to a kind act or good deed.
I’m really looking forward to expanding our group and it’s potential on this new platform. I believe there are a endless possibilities and opportunities to this new platform of pod-casting and I can’t wait to see where this is going to take us.
Thanks for reading and until next time I will be doing my part to change the way the world thinks and works one good deed at a time. Will you?

My Vision
When I first designed the Kindness Initiative Network I just made a group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/kindnessinitiativenetwork
My hope was that I could get a few people together to do good deeds and
help others in the community. To my surprise I had about 1700 people
join and everyone was excited and talking about all the good deeds they
were doing. I had many people coming to me telling me that we need to
form the group into a charity so I started to do that. I formed a board
and we began some of the nuances of forming a charity we did not succeed
and board fell apart. In the process of doing that and trying to
organize group activities and taking on projects that were to big for
the group at the time I lost site of what I had set out to do from the
start. I continued to take suggestions from people and almost as fast as
I gained followers I started to lose them. I became frustrated and
almost gave up!
I took a break for a couple of months and realized that I truly have a passion for making the world a better place so I decided to start again and here I am with a fresh new outlook on the group and some tools that I can use to accomplish what I set out to do in the first place! The thing that I’m most excited about moving forward is a Podcast that I will be launching soon. Like I said I’m passionate about changing the world and I want to reach the masses. I listen to the radio a lot while I’m at work and found that there is NO positive outlet in the mass media radio. I feel over welmed with news and depressing stories poring out of one station after another so I decided that’s where I want the change to begin. I would like to create a radio station where there is nothing but a positive message being broad cast. A radio station that promotes kindness, positive thinking and kind and positive actions!
My vision is to start with my own Podcast and ask other positive people, ie motivational speaker to make a Podcast of their own and send them to me so that we can form a collection of positive, kind, and uplifting, collection for people to listen to. I believe that there is plenty of people who would enjoy listening to that rather than the same news stories over and over. I know that if the demand is there then we would be able to move it to the mainstream media and be broadcast on an FM station nation wide then I would really be making a difference!
